Members News
WELCOME TO THE SGA GOLF CLUB MEMBERS WEBSITE.
For 2020 up to date news items will appear here on a monthly basis and by selecting from the members menu above, you are able to check the seasons fixtures, latest handicaps and results of all formal competitions.
We have introduced in 2019 a number of informal competitions which are open to all members and contract holders. These competitions in 2020 will be in various formats and we hope to encourage more players to enter. Regular notices regarding news, competitions and social events will appear on the notice boards in the club shop and cafe.
We hope you all have a very enjoyable and successful season.
Members should note that the monthly competitions are played on your choice of day – one midweek and one weekend. You choose which day and arrange your tee time. You must play with at least one other member. All competitions count towards your handicap, Order of merit, the Club Championship and Victor Ludorum finals in September. Details of qualification can be obtained from the secretary.
Captain
Following debate and no clear candidate coming forward for 2019 the Executive Committee decided that there will be no Captain this year. The role is still of course developing as the structure of the Club remains very much a format for competition rather than the wider role a Captain plays at a more conventional Club.
The Executive Committee therefore ranthe Competitions, seeking help as needed. In addition SGA will continue to organise regular additional, non qualifying competition with a more social objective as in the past. Details will be posted here.
